To play DanceOverflow on your pc you only need an email address to sign up to the service

If you want to use the scoring system you also need

  • Kinect V2 (The Xbox One version)
  • Microsoft Xbox One S/X Kinect Adapter to connect to your pc
  • A USB 3 port on your pc

Yes! You're free to enjoy and watch the dance routines without using the scoring system.

No, signing up is free. Because I'm using dance routines created by other amazing people, I don't want to make money out of that. Maybe in the future I add any optional cosmetic options, for when people want to support me and keep me from losing money out of this. But I haven't thought that through yet.

Because I want to keep the service free, I have the right to stop new subscriptions at any time, temporarily suspend access to the service, or ban people that do not follow the fair use of the service.

No, because the Xbox is a closed platform, I need to go through certification which would require additional work and costs. On top of that its an old platform that is in the final stage of its life.
Other platforms are also not available for similar reasons.

I'm always interested in Virtual Reality on PC, so maybe in the future I can add support for something like that.

I don't want the game to ship with copyrighted content of games that are still being sold. When joining in on Twitch you can dance along with the songs I'm playing at that time.

Email validation is used to avoid abuse of the service. The email address is only used for account related emails.

Kinect camera data is not recorded. The game parses your body to a basic skeleton with x, y and z coordinates. If you want you can show this skeleton figure in multiplayer so we have a view of everyone dancing together (that would be fun!).
